Stacey Nelson, MS, OTR/L

Stacey is the Founder and Executive Director of San Diego Hippotherapy. Stacey received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomechanics from UC Davis and her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Indianapolis. She has over 15 years experience in rehabilitation, with emphasis on spinal cord injury, brain injury, amputations, and stroke. She has presented on occupational therapy and hippotherapy at the state, regional, and national levels.

Stacey has over thirty years’ horse experience, and over twenty years’ experience in therapeutic riding and hippotherapy. She is a graduate ‘B’ Pony Clubber and has competed through the Preliminary level in Three-Day Eventing. She is a NARHA Registered Instructor and a NARHA Registered Therapist. Stacey is also the Region 11 (CA, NV, HI) liaison for the American Hippotherapy Association.
