My son, Cameron, has hypotonic cerebral palsy. He has been labeled developmentallydelayed and lacking in gross and fine motor coordination. We started Cameron in many therapies as well as early intervention education. Stacey sent me some literature about two years ago and I wasn't sure hippotherapy would be for him. WHAT WAS I THINKING? I should not have hesitated at all. This amazing therapy on a horse is the answer! Soon after we started I was getting reports back from his physical therapist that his gross motor was inline and that he would no longer need PT. I could not believe the change in Cameron after about six months of hippotherapy. His gross and fine motor skills are improving drastically as well as his balance and endurance. Of all the therapies Cameron is enrolled in, this has the most punch for our money. The therapy addresses all of his special needs. Best of all, he thinks he is just going horseback riding. It is great fun!

I was delighted to find the Center after searching for such a program for nearly a year. There are virtually no other programs of this caliber in existence in our area. Only six weeks after beginning at San Diego Hippotherapy did my son begin to combat crawl. His strength has improved immensely as well as his confidence and happiness to be on the horses. His head and trunk control have improved vastly as well as his balance and endurance. He is beginning to walk using a walker. I have seen more children join the program with stories of joy and success similar to my son's.
